I’m confused. When you play the picking nice and slow I hear 5 notes…bass and four more, but when you say “ok” and start playing it sounds like you added 3 mre notes.

I took piano lessons as a kid. Hate them, picked up a guitar and it took over my musical interests. It lead to banjo and mandolin.

No need to study sheet music, or theory. Just play from the ear and work on technique.
