The market of informational Guitar Posters is littered with over-sized, impossible to read typography sheets which list scales, chords, and music theory.
Most – and best selling, confusingly – of these posters, such as the ones Hal Leonard publishes are either:
1. chords poster – listing 100s of impractical chords with ridiculous voicings.
2. scales poster – undecipherable dots and patterns representing scales with random fingerings and exotic scales in 12 keys to fill up space.
3. theory poster – circle 5ths, chord spellings and intervals, etc. that you could find any where on the internet; it would be better learned from a book.
All nicely packaged to be unreadable 2 feet away from the poster.
The “The Ultimate Learn Guitar Lesson Poster” by Karl Aranjo on the other hand condenses practical and informative guitar theory with as little frill as possible.
The poster contains much more than just chords, scales, and basic theory, and could be used as a primer for beginning guitarists looking to delve into jazz.
(not to mention, the typography is actually readable – though the design, I have to admit, could use some work.)
Anyhow, the $[...] for it will give you more musical sense and understanding than a $30 guitar lesson from some unaccomplished, local guitar teacher.
Note: Karl also maintains a free, companion website further detailing the poster at [...]

It’s definitely packed with alot of info, but information is worthless if it doesn’t ‘come together’
There’s absolutely no order to this poster. It has a suprlus of scales, I swear there’s doubles of a few, but it’s hard to say since half of the ‘images’ are stretched and skewed…
I don’t know, it has information, but since there’s no order to anything on it, information is hard to find. The real kicker, you can tell it’s just some guy googling a bunch of scales, copying, pasting, and printing them. Then selling it for $20…
It’s just not worth it, save yourself the money and google, copy, paste, and print the scales of your computer.

This poster is such an awesome and effective tool of referance to use while while playing, that even the old-time players I showed it too have asked for one! And that’s saying something. It’s like having a guitar teacher/fellow expert with you all the time!
It’s not the prettiest poster ever -the picture grafics could have been better- but that only adds to its charm. It’s not meant to just look pretty, it’s meant to be read and used. Everything you’ll need is clearly presented in the most cunning and clear fashion. It has all you need for chords and scales, sheet-music and TAB reading; awesome!
It definetly rivels alot of useless guitar books out there; I tell you, you *will* be turning to this poster again and again.
Gatta go, have to get another one of these posters to put in the room were we hold practices…
