Learn To Play Guitar
is it easy to play the drums if you have experience with the guitar?
Im buying myself a drum set this summer and was wondering if it is somewhat easy to play? Having now 6 years of experience with guitar will it help with my coordination? Also are there any drum lesson books out there that could help, Like with guitar theres regular notes and Tabs but for drums is there anything like that? And are drum lessons recommended?

I’ve been playing guitar for about 7 years now, and i cannot for the life of me pick up the drums. Not trying too discourage you, I’m just saying it’s not for me. lol that being said i should be alot better at guitar than i am for how long i’ve been playing.
my brother plays drums really well and he recommends lessons or at least look up proper posture and fundamentals. he was self taught for a while, and when he tried getting better by learning all the “proper” ways too sit, hold the stick, and stuff, it took him awhile too kick all the bad habits. He’s a beast drummer now and has been playing for around 12 years, so his word is good.

If you put time into it you can do it. One of the main things is either work with a metronome or try and play along to some very basic songs. Go back a few years to early straight ahead rock or country depending on your style.
Here is a good start http://www.freedrumlessons.com/drum-lessons/beginner-drum-lessons.php
Since, drums and bass are the backbone of a band you have to make sure you play confidently and proud to lead the band.
I’ve been teaching and playing guitar for over 25 years. I can play a little bit of drums and with some practise to can you.

it doesn’t really have to do with each other, the technique is very different. yes, it will probably would with developing some rhythm, but not so much.
