Learn To Play Guitar
How Easy Would It Be To Teach Yourself To Play The Guitar?
I own a guitar and I took lesson but it was years ago. I was 11 when I went for lessons and Im now nearly 22. I only took lessons for a year. I want to start playing the guitar but don’t have time or money for lessons. Would I be able to teach myself?

Of course, I’m currently teaching myself. It is not impossible, if you go on youtube u’ll be sure to find people that are self taught. An example is; Savannah Outen who is now a famouse musician! Anyways, it is definitely not impossible for this generation! We have the internet, that is very use full! ^^ Good luck!

Sure it’s possible – I taught myself. But if you don’t have the time for lessons, you don’t have the time to learn for yourself, because what you pretty much have to do is put your guitar somewhere easy to reach, and every time you walk past it pick it up and practise for a while, until it becomes automatic.
I don’t know much more about strumming than the easy chords, but I taught myself to pick quite well. What I did was turned on the radio and tried to pick along with those songs, or even listen to a tune and then try pick it. It’s hard at first, but when you’ve trained your ear enough you start to pick the melodies easily enough. What I’m working on now is getting the background picking right.
Good luck, keep practising.

Since you have doubts, I think you will have problems. If you can’t afford lessons, check out classes or at least get together with a friend who plays. GET HELP
Good Luck

A small percentage of people successfully teach themselves, but many more give up in frustration. Try lessons again.
