I’ve decided that if I give up getting my hair highlighted and really budget our groceries then I can just afford guitar lessons. But it’s kind of sad. I’ve always really wanted to learn the guitar and I’ve been teaching myself and I just feel like I have come to a standstill so it’s time to get a teacher. :-/ I play clarinet here and there professionally at the moment but don’t make a lot of money (obivously or I wouldn’t be having this problem lol) and I really have no love left for this instrument. My enjoyment for the clarinet left many years ago. The guitar on the other hand has always intrigued me.

Shall I go for it? Or give up on my dream?

Never give up on your dreams!! It is clear that you have put plenty of thought into this, and have decided to give up something that makes you feel good for something that makes you feel even better. I have been playing now for 12 years and I would not trade it for anything… so maybe my view is a bit skewed. However, I always stand firm on "follow thy dreams". If you give them up… what else are you willing to give up? Good luck hun.
