@Steve564ify you’ll need a piezo pickup that goes under the bridge. i’d suggest a K&k brand piezo for an archtop. I have one in my 1940 Epiphone Emperor, and it’s fantastic

October 3, 2011 - 11:46 pm
@van1980 It’s probably mostly about convenience. You don’t have to keep switching the pick up in and out every time you want to switch between acoustic and electric. You also get a much tidier cable at the bottom instead of at the sound hole and the EQ/volume controls mentioned. Maybe a better pickup too. It costs more but for someone playing a lot it would probably be worth it.

October 4, 2011 - 12:43 am
next time, make sure that the “live” sound of the acoustic guitar isn’t just as loud as the sound that’s coming out of the amp. that adulterates the result quite a bit.
and plugging an acoustic into an amp for an electric isn’t too good an idea either: these speakers have literally no response above 5 to 6 kHz; that’s where the sparkle of an a-guitar hasn’t even started. in combination with such a magnetic pickup you will get a sound that’s closer to the clean sound of an electric.
October 4, 2011 - 1:18 am
So, why buy an EA if you can just mount a $60 pickup in a better sounding guitar?
October 4, 2011 - 1:22 am

October 4, 2011 - 1:36 am
